Thursday sailboat racing start

This Thursday evening was the first night of sailing racing.  On Thursdays I race a J22. The winds we re rather high for a J22 sustained 18 knots gusting to high twenties.  Lessons learned : one of the boats had a shroud bust due to not checking the cotter pins. Always check cotter pins and tape over them.  After the race  the knot on the main sheet block came undone. Whomever rigged the boats did not use a bowling knot but something else. We fixed it before docking but still has me double checking.
